theres a small decal which says "carc".....any-one know where it goes before I commence weathering ?
Also, does any-one know how they attach the back board I see in some photos , I have the blast accessory set.
Thanks for looking,
John.

If I remember correctly the "carc" goes in the cab on or near the steering column?
I think the backboards are attached with ratchet straps or something similar.

Is that the Panda or Kinetic kit? Either way, looks really good. I like how you masked? the white strip around the windows.

Considering the PE parts it must be Panda's kit!

Thanks Cory , I see it now . No chance of that going on now.....no chance of seeing it anyhow .
Its the Panda kit Jim as Aristeidis pointed out.
My hat goes off to any-one who can finish this kit , its a real labour of love .
[url
The crows is the blast resin kit , which on the other hand is very nice.
Another shot of the interior.....
[url
I put the blast parts in there and some seat belts and a radio from a Humvee kit left=over.
The only parts I would suggest is the seat belts and radios to add , unless your leaving the doors open.
Heres how it stands at the moment.....
[url
[url
It has the kit wheels which are terrible while I wait for the DEF ones to come in the mail.
Nothing lined up on this kit , had to dry-fit every-thing , sand , dry-fit ,sand some more and finally glue.
Getting the chassis level and true is very important on a wheeled vehicle and its bloody hard to do on this model.
But it makes a nice subject and the Kinetic one is over scale , so it's worth the hassle if you really want a M-ATV.
I used the Voyager PE set for this build , the foot boards are great parts but overscale for this kit , but the kit parts are shocking so I went with overscale......
Thanks for looking,
John.

John congatulations! Great built so far! I would like to make a question concerning the blast models CROWS and the adaptation on the roof of the panda kit: did you just placed resting the base of the CROWS on the roof or is it adapted internal to the kit's roof ring Meaning is the CROWS circle main base diameter larger than the diameter of the roof ring of the PANDA kit?

John, I have a question about your Duke Control Box on the back wall inside the cargo back. Panda left it out, I see it in yours. I have been trying to scratchbuild my box. I'm wondering if you scratched yours or how you made it.

To answer your question Aristeidis , the blast part fits in there without any trouble considering how much a pain the rest of the kit is . All I had to do was shave off the inner lip a little.
The control box comes in the blast set Cory , I just put a few wires into it.
Thanks for looking in.

Thanks for your reply! So as i can understand the total diameter of the CROWS base is larger that the kit's ring and you just insert it in the MATV's roof after saving the inner lip? I ask you that because i have the Kinetic kit and as i have read its roof ring is a little larger than the Panda's one so i suppose i can use the blast conversion for the kinetic

I would'nt like to say Aristeidis.......I hear the Kineic kit is over-scale so the roof turret hole may be too big , maybe blank it off and make a new hole .
Hope that helps,
John.

Very nice work John,
If you think the Panda is a labour of love you should try the Kenetic version. .It's a shame that Trumpeter or Tamiya didn't produce one. After weeks I'm still working on mine over on "M-ATV full build"

Got an update for you. Painted up the kit wheels while waiting for the DEF ones to arrive from lucky model

AS you can see I got the lights done.Sprayed some buff around to start the dirt build-up , wont be going over the top with the weathering though.
Finally got the DEF wheels in the post. But was not happy with the spare because of the waste plug. So I've just gone with the kit one.

Here's the resin wheels plus some of the gear I'm going to add to the cargo area.

As you can see I've started to paint the wheels. Tamiya nato black and semi-gloss black for the hubs. Then a light dry-brush black all-over. Buff and washes next.
Cheers,
John.

All right. Your build has convince me to pick one up. The interior is quite nice. And, the exterior looks like a good, solid build. I'll follow along.

Awesome work John,
Very detailed paint job.I too am amazed you did the white around the windows. It's always a shame the work on the interior gets covered up.I have a habit of leaving doors and hatches open to see as much as possible even though in a dio setting they probably should be closed. As one member once told me"you know what the inside looks like".
You should be quite proud.
