I did the Tamiya t34/85 tank....Went together well....Pretty good details...One piece plastic tracks (I avoid single piece part tracks)

Do not discount the Italeri or Zvezda T-34 series. They are more accurate than Tamiya's T-34 series, so don't let the price fool you. The Italeri/Zvezda T-34 come with vinyl tracks, but two halves make up a side. I think the hull detailing is superior Tamiya's T-34.
I have heard nothing but good things about the DML T-34s, but if you dislike single link tracks, then Italeri/Zvezda is the one to get. Maquette also does a series of T-34s and is also boxed by RPM. I hear these are real accurate, but having done some of these Eastern European kits, I bet they may be a bit fiddly to build.

Don't bother with the Tamiya kit. It's old, inaccurate in many ways and, if I remember, might have been one of the motorized kits.
The DML's are very nice. Only thing I would want to replace are the engine grilles. They should be replaced with an etched piece or brass mesh. You can buy PE just for this.
The DML tracks are fine.

I've never modeled a T-34 (heck never a Panther or Tiger either) and it sounds like I'm missing something fun here. A lot of modelers build them...

dml's t-34 are grea, but like the one gentleman replied the italeri ones are not that shabby either.the tamiya ones are old and the detail on them is very heavy.DML is also coming out with some of the early T-34 variant also...thx larry

hi forget the tamiya it is very poor in all areas of angles , size and details , i would do your research first as to time scale you want to built it in early ones 1940 41 ,42 can be built and the drgon t 34 /85 1944 is great i saw two being used in the last days of berlin the other night on tv , as to make maquette need work , italri / zezdia are good , dradon also good , the new 1940 from dragon is promised soon , i am building a series of early ones from maqette and it is taking time but since i am replacing all the fenders and tool boxes , with scratch built aluminium foil , and making my own gun barrels on lathe , but it is only a hobby , cheers ian

if your a nitpicker DML is the only one whose T-34 scales out correctly military modelling did a comparison not too long ago but it was the T-34/85.
