I'm currently in a deal for an AER ASU-57 and I'd like to know how good the kit is. I'll be buying it either way. But I'd like to know what to know about this kit anyway. Thanks.

Without a doubt, it is the best plastic kit of the vehicle in 1/35.

That being said, it is rough.

I haven't built it but it is a oh, 1990's vintage Eastern European kit - Flat molded, flash, larger or more numerous sprue gates, that sort of thing. I bought three aftermarket pieces: Gun tube and return rollers from Modelpoint and a PE fret from Part. Eduard also makes a set. I would look at Jadar Hobby

It is now being sold by PARC Models
with better decals.

I have the kit and stopped work on it a while back, mainly because of parts fitting together poorly, miss-poured/injected areas and expect a lot of the use of putty and sanding.

I have seen worse and it WILL build up to a nice vehicle, just not a shake and bake kit like a Tamiya would offer.

ANYTHING that could be added to it (like AM or PE) grab it and use it! I'll get back to mine soon as it is about the size of a 1/72 kit.

But it isn't all that bad and due to the rarity of the vehicle, don't pass it up over the fear of a little work!

Ok. Thanks guys. I'll probably be buying it soon. Thanks again... Also, Kurt, what were those AM sets that you bought? Not the PE set, I've already seen that.
