Like the name says, I need to know what the color of the glass covering the thermal and other electronics in the M1A1 doghouse is. I'm stuck on that step in my DML M1A1 project.

depending on how the light hit them, they appear purple or green, or mirrored...

Ok... So I guess I'd paint the back of the right half gloss black and the back of the other half clear green.

I used Tamiya purple pearl on the left side and clear green with a drop of gold on the right side. It looks pretty close to the real thing.

It's hard to see in the final product but the little touch of color is enough to make it realistic.

I don't have Tamiya Purple Pearl. Anything I could use in place of it?

maybe clear red with a touch of blue and gold...

the glass has a reflective "laser safe" coating which gives it a the green/purple appearance. It also has the defrost wires that you see in the pics.

I wish I had more ref pics but those are the only shots I have of the optics. plenty of other shots if there's anything else you need refs of...
