A nice review, we still had the SLR in '91 -'92,to be fair we (R.E) might have been the last to receive the L85/SA80, still I had my best grouping with the SLR.

Thanks for that info, I wasn't sure how long it was before the change over was complete. Although I left the army about 28 years ago I'm pretty sure I could still strip and assemble one of these blindfold

I used the SLR while I was in the RAAF and I still think it was much much better than the Tupperware Steyr we got issued in the 1990s. Nice and powerful..

I haven't touched an SLR since '92 but I too think I could strip one with my ees closed. Muscle memory is a great thing..

Truly a weapon of beauty. 132331 was mine, manufactured in 1959. Never had a stoppage in all the years I fired her with ball or blank. Was a sad day when I did my SA80 instructors course and they gave me a joke replacement (which I broke in 30 minutes...oops!) for my baby. Reliable, powerful and realistically it didn't matter where you hit someone they'd end up on their arse in a mess. Nice to see someones actually making one in 1/35th

I used to make my section strip and reassemble them blindfolded and set my record as a bench mark...lol. 15 secs for a strip 22 for a reassemble blindfolded. 20 secs over they got 25 press ups. That's infantrymen for you. They got faster...lol

Any idea on where to get them from? I have a project in the works that will need a set of these.
