AMPS Canada Region is excited to announce that we will be hosting the first AMPS regional show outside of the U.S. next year, on June 7, 2014. The show will be located at the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa, Ontario (30 minutes east of Toronto). It will be run in conjunction with the Ferret Club's Tank Saturday, where they will be demonstrating several of their running tanks. The Ferret club has over 30 running armoured vehicles in their collection, all of which will be on display.

Looking forwards to seeing a lot of our Central Canada and North Eastern US friends at the show!

Sorry Paul, but last time I checked Edmonton was still part of Canada. Capital City AMPS show was August 24th. So this would be the second regional show outside of the U.S. and the second in Canada.

Hi Rod:
We may have been mistaken, but the information we were using about the judging, awards, and categories used in the Edmonton and Calgary shows came from here:
http://www.onepointed.com/dan/Edmonton/rules.shtml
and here:
http://www.albertamilmodshow.ca/Alberta_Military_Modellers_Show/Categories.html
http://www.albertamilmodshow.ca/Alberta_Military_Modellers_Show/Judging.html
What we are using are these rules and categories:
http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/Documents/ContestRules/AMPS_Rules_for_Show_Judging_February_2013.pdf
When we talk about an AMPS show we mean one using the full AMPS system, including judging and categories, with multiple skill levels, written feedback forms, and the possibility of multiple (or no) gold, silver, and bronze medals in each category. Our assertion of being the "first AMPS regional show outside the U.S." was not referring to whether a show hosted by an AMPS chapter or not, but rather to bringing the entire AMPS show system to Canada. Based on all of the information we had, including from the AMPS executive, we were under the impression that there had not been a full-up AMPS show outside the United States as yet. If that's what's previously happened in Edmonton and/or Calgary, we do apologize for the confusion.
Cheers,
Scott
