Can I use Acrylic Matt Varnish over a Oil Wash? Can i use oils with White Spirit on Matt Varnish? What i am looking for is a good ACRYLIC Matt or Flat clear that i can shoot from the air brush.

i use this stuff

http://www.testors.com/product/136693/4636/_/Flat_Clear_Acryl_Acryl_-_1oz._Bottle

Thin it with 91% Rubbing Alcohol and it works great out of an airbrush.

I use Vallejo matte varnish. I can't complain about the result.

Vallejo clear flat,
Polyscale clear flat,
Testor acrly clear flat
Tamiya clear flat.

IMPORTANT: Tamiya clear flat NOT the clear base!....2 distinctly different
products.

All the above are excellent products that are brush able or airbrush able.

Make sure that your oils are fully dry before applying and that the flat
coats themselves are fully dry before applying anything over them.

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks for the help. They quit making Polyscale. The only thing i was worried about was the word Varnish. If it is a Acrylic, i guess i can put oil washes and filters over it.

Go to the site Stevens International they still list poly scales, that's the one parrot right ? It's still on their list of products, just not sure if its for locomotives though .
