Hi Gang,
with the upcoming release of Tamiya´s Gama Goat and M151, some scenes from Operation Urgent Fury came back to my mind. I think about building a 82nd Airborne M102 howitzer in firing position. I my memoriy serves me well, wasn`t there a gun crew from the M102 in BDU uniform, maybe from AZIMUT productions? Also does anyone know if the AFV Club M102 is still available?
TIA

You are correct. They are long OOP, but come up on eBay from time to time. I have been looking for a set as well.
Good luck.

Hi guys,
after searching my archive. I found a book about Grenada. It show that most M151 A2 had the M60 m.g. attached. Was the M2
HB also used in the Airborne units or only with SF vehicles?
Also, the M561 Gama Goat was used to tow the M102 Howitzer. I guess that there must be a second Goat in the arty section to haul the ammo for the gun.

The M2 .50 cal was not common on the M151 series. The recoil was found to be too tough on the frame and it would eventually crack the frame and mounts. The common weapon was the M60. A few were seen with M2s, but it was not common.
Tamiya got it wrong with the .50 cal on their M151A2 Greneda 1983 kit. It should have an M60 on it. I haven't seen the sprues, but the original M151A2 kit had the M60 and gunmount. They should still be in this kit as well.
