Hey guys,

I'm busy building Academy's M1025 and Italeri's M998 (what they call 'Command Hum-V').

I just wanted to find out if I am the only one who keeps having problems with the Academy M1025? I know it is a very old kit, but every time I build one I always have a problem with the hood. It never seems to align up properly with the front tow bar attached to the chassis. It looks like the front left side of the hood sits higher than the other side.

Anyone had the same problem? If so, any tips on how to fix this?

It has been a long while since I built that kit but I do remember having a similar issue with the hood. I just ended up flexing/stretching mine to fit and glued it in place.

Thanks Cory. I'm going to have to do the same.

Hi,

my Academy M1025 has a complete twisted body (more than 2mm excentric).
The hood itself is pretty straight - so my kit has the problem with the body, not the hood.

Cheers

Thomas,

I think the problem is the body. The two pieces that join under the windshield and form arches over the wheels. The one front left side makes the hood sit higher.

It's weird, but I had no problem when I build Academy's M998 IED Guntruck - considering it's basically the same kit.
