AMPS National Convention, 2004

AMPS 2004, the tenth annual International Convention, will be held at the same location as last year, the Havre de Grace Community Center, on April 16-17, 2004.

The Theme

The theme for AMPS 2004 will be "Engineer and Recovery Vehicles". At this point, that would include any vehicle that was used for those purposes.

Seminars

A show schedule will be posted approximately 30 days before the show. Last year's seminars included:

Tom Gannon on Israeli Patton Tanks
John Rauscher et al on British kit and uniforms in Korea
Tom Jentz on German colors and camouflage
Ed Gilbert on the history of the Fleet Marine Force
Ed Gilbert on USMC armored vehicles in the Korean War
Steve Zaloga on his approach to detailing

Entry Fees
(Note - These fees may change before the show date. Check back here just before the show)

Walk-in fees are $5 for one day or $8 for both days. Entry fees are the same as last year, $20 for non-AMPS members, $15 for members. The entry fee includes a raffle ticket and up to three models. Additional raffle tickets are $0.50 each. Additional model entries cost $1.00 per model for four to seven, and then $2.00 per model over that However, the maximum number of models that can be entered by one person may have to be limited due to space considerations, and only one award is presented per modeler in each category entered.

APG Museum

Located just minutes from the world famous Aberdeen Proving Grounds Ordnance Museum, AMPS 2004 offers the armor enthusiast the opportunity to visit this historic and colorful place, providing hours of enjoyment and historical perspective on the vehicles which have changed the course of history.
