I have a Paasche airbrush (VL I think,) that I have had since '96 or so, and it has been a really good airbrush. It has never failed me (other than the times I have experimented with pressures and such as some have advised) and has been very consistent.
I have mainly used Model Master enamels and it has been great.
Any particular reason that nobody mentions them anymore?

No Paasche is not fading away, it's just that people get enamored with all the new airbrushes out there. I have two Paasches and I have had them for a very, very long time. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I push acrylics through mine and they have no problem getting the job done.

I too own a Paasche VL and would't trade it for anything. It works great (despite several operator errors). I'll keep using it until either it or myself dies.

I have a toolbox drawer full of dead Paasche brushes and their assorted parts. The VL was the best of them and lived the longest. I don't use them anymore, as my Badgers keep on painting when all others are soaking..

I love my Paasche H ... I do have a Tamiya superfine but 95% of the time I use my good ole single action Paasches!

My Paasche is my general purpose airbrush that I use the most of the time, very rugged and does a great job. For fine detail though, I pull out my Iwata Eclipse.

I have a Paasche H, with which I spray primers & Future. It has never failed me and is very very easy to clean.
