Hi,
Does anyone have an opinion on the Academy version of the M2? Is it a rebox of somebody's old kit?
I currently have 2 M2s from Tamiya with interior, but I wanted to see if the interior from the cheaper academy one might be usable for the Tamiya M3.
They also make a M151 with TOWs that looks much like the Tamiya one. Rebox again? They're somewhat cheaper.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Armor/AFV

Yes, they are copies of the Tamiya kits. You should have no problems dropping the Academy interior into the Tamiya M3. The interior of an M2 and M3 differ slightly.
Same deal with the M151A2 TOW. It is a direct copy so the detail is not as fine. I do know that the Academy M151A2 with trailer also came with a copy of the Tamiya 4.2" mortar and crew (same guys that come with the M106A1).

Sabot,
As always I'm glad we're on the same team. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I know the M3 is slightly different, it seems to only carry two scouts and a LOT of TOWs. Do you know the "warload"?
Thanks.

No problem Iwan. I have two being used in a class right now, so if you need a specific shot, let me know. I have several of the engines on stands too, also take a look at some of the shots in my motorpool album in the gallery to see some M2A2 interior shots. I do have an M3A1 in the bay that I can photograph if need be.
