Hi All,

For modern Chinese armour in the sand, green and dark green camo which is the base colour? In other words what colour is bottom of hull, rear of wheels and other areas where camo pattern isn't applied? I'm thinking it's the sand colour but can anyone confirm that?

I believe they paint the rear of the wheels with the same color as the front. As for the bottom of the hull, I would guess (I have never come across a picture of the bottom of a tri-color modern Chinese tank hull underside) it follows the pattern from the front glacis plate- taking the ZTZ-99 series as an example the front glacis pattern is roughly half green and half sand and it continues to the underside- I would say it probably continues on the bottom of the hull until the sand kind of tapers off to one side at the bottom rear of the tank- the sand comes out just on the bottom left of the rear hull plate- thats if you are facing the rear of the tank.
