Gerry,
Man, you have come so far! This is really good. How did you do the flags?

Hi Gerry,

you are amazing...!! You turn out vignettes faster than we can write comments

This one shows a sound concept. Very clever to let them come out of a dense vegetation! Seals the view to the back, makes sense entirely!

Any big flaws...?? No, not really. The scene looks good.

One little thing just...the guys are just out...and the vegetation "has sprung back" already completely...and this is probably not possible! Some would have been trampled down, and I would have spread out some of the strands.

Would I have done certain things differently..like slight variations in the uniform colour, or one less motto banner f.ex...??
Totally irrelevant, as we are talking more "atmosphere" or "cosmetics" here, so you are the only judge!

Well done Sir!!

Cheers

Romain

I like it, it's just the skin tone, they don't look particularly Japanese. More like Americans in Japanese uniforms. Rest is good however.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to reply.

The skin tone is a lot paler than I would do for Europeans or Americans,

I could not do it any paler as they would have looked like Gaisha girls.

I compromised and made it as pale as I could.

I am not very good with skin tones.

Cheers

Clever indeed! Great diorama. A great deal of drama. I am also interested in how you made the flags.

Shaving would have been the least of their worries in the jungle.

Jesse

Thanks for looking and taking the time to reply.

The banners were wet decals and I put them onto a piece of tinfoil and gave them a coat of vallejo decal softner.

Once this had dried completely I cut them out and placed them in position.

The tin foil is good for positioning the banner in whatever manner you wish as it is flexable. I then painted the backs and touched up any tinfoil showing through.

I also use this method for doing flags.

Cheers

I appreciate your comments and if you look at the reply I gave to Jesse it informs you how the flags were done.

Cheers
