Hi folks,

Anyone recommend any decent and cost effective Jungle plants?

I was looking at the Fields of Glory stuff but it seems mighty expensive. Anyone any experience of these products?

Hi Alan,

if you want to save money you could make your own plants from paper. There are some great tutorials here.

For money you could use Federicus Rex paper plants. These are fantastic and easy to build. Also they have a lot of different plants in color and form.

For PE-plants you can use Verlinden ones, Nimix, Scale Link, etc. these are really expensive but with very good Details and thickness.

Hi Al,

it seems that the FOG plants are actually Fredericus Rex.

The big leaves "jungle" plants are lasered paper and I can only recommend them.
What is sold in paper can of course be "manufactured" at home. Nothing a good pair of scissors and a sharp knife couldn't achieve. That would drastically reduce the price!

Alan,also pay your attention to "Eduard" colored photoetched plants (absolutely tasty and simple for use Ivy and Ferns) and paper plants from "Kamizukuri"

Beech seeds and wire or styrene can replicate an awful lot of plants. They're also free if you have beech trees. Reminds me I should be going and shaking ours for the cones. Even if you don't they're very, very cheap and plentiful, which is good for leaves of trees.
