Good evening Everybody,

I`have recently ordered 4 Nemrod Pathfinder Normandy 1944 figures at my LHS; some figures I really look forward to build. Doing some research on the matter I came across some airborne/pathfinder helmets with camouflage paint applied. Unfortunately I am not able to judge the authenticity of these camouflage method, especially as most examples I could find in the vast speres of the internet seem to be sold from militaria traders or are owned by reenactors. So I wonder if someone could give further information on Normandy `44 Airborne/Pathfinder helmets with camouflage paint!!! applied. Fotographs, written accounts, etc.. are all very appreciated. I especially "fell in love" with a pic of a helmet in a two-tone green/black-camo. If someone could give some information on the possibility of this kind of camo I would be very grateful.

Best Regards

Dennis

Dennis ,, A very close friend of mine is a reenactor and a pretty damn serious one at that ,,the unit they reenact is the 82nd Airbourne and they have cammoed helmets ,,a book of theirs one the 82nd shows quite a few genuine painted helmets including one with a nasty bullet hole threw it .
If you do a google search for 82nd airbourne helmets you will find pics of the real deal ,faded now of course but you can still see the original paint .
Hope this helps ya out mate

Phill,

Thank You very much. I think I found some interesting informations. I think I will be able to paint my helmets in a fashion which will be realistic.

Thanks again.

Best regards

Dennis

Dennis,
There's a great book available called US Airborne Helmets of WWII by Michel de Trez.
If you like US Airborne then you'll love this book!

Joe.
