Applying Filters w/ Brush or Airbrush?

Is there a difference whether I apply filters with a brush or airbrush? What's your preference?

Applying by airbrush would be if you were trying to tie all your colors together,or if you just wanted to filter the whole model.Although the overal filter can be applied by hand also.

If you wanted to do individual panels or areas,then hand brushing wold be used.
