A long time ago I came across this pic, cannot recall the autor or the website to give credit
Can you tell me what kind of versión is it and if it ever saw actual action?

It's not too much, but it's all we got...

Hugo,
That's the XM734. It was an experimental version of the M113. It was a test vehicle to determine the feasibility of fighting from inside the M113. The same concept was used on the first versions of the M2/3 Bradley. Ultimately, it was to prove impractical. The XM734 never saw action. However, Verlinden did do a conversion kit for the Tamiya M113 many years ago. I think it is OOP, but may still be found on Ebay or at modeling shows.

Hi Hugo,
I'm no expert but it's a XM734.
http://www.jedsite.info/fulltrack-xray/xray-mike/xm734_series/xm734-series.html Verlinden has/had a conversion for the Tamiya kit.
There was a vehicle with bar armor, in Vietnam.
Cheers,
Christophe

XM734 MICV (Mounted Infantry Combat Vehicle), an M113A1 upgrade with firing ports (4 each side, 2 in the back). It was supposed to enable fighting from armored cover, but was not accepted for use.
