Hi friends

Here's my Academy MCV80 sporting the BATUS camouflage.
A simple build completed with Friul tracks and a turret practice marking.
Painted with Gunze/Tamiya and weathered wich oil paints.

It still looks a little naked, and I don't think the early BATUS Warriors used the black/white tactical markings?
Any suggestions how to dress her up a little?

Kind regards
/Tomas

Hi Thomas

Very nice Warrior, du have made there.

I like the colours and the light dusting. Perhaps some tarps and ammo boxes in the storage bins on the side and back on the turret?

Thank you for sharing.

Hi Tomas,

Do you have the Tankograd book on BATUS?

I think a Red or Green flag on the turret to denote live or safe vehicle with live ammunition.

A few sheets of Hessian here and there for camo (rolled up along the length of the vehicle and some camo scrim on the turret.

in the turret basket you could put POL containers and couple of Rarden ammo boxes.

I will PM you later.

You could change the name of this to

A Demonstration Bn Warrior, live firing on Salisbury plain,

the the cam is the same,
without the black panels on the sides, BATUS has used them when 432s and Chieftains roamed the plains of Alberta .

Thanks for the tips guys.

So this isn't from BATUS att all you say but from Salisbury plains?
I'll might have to stick on some tactical signs and other accessories quickly then...
Thanks for all your help also Anthony.

The Tan/Sand color used in Canada (BATUS) is NOT the same as used in the UK.

Hi Keith,

The vehicles used by the demonstration battalion based in Warminster are painted in sand / green - this is to differentiate them from the other units using salisbury plain.

The demonstration battalion are often called upon to provide opfor resources and so having vehicles in a different paint scheme gives them automatic differentiation.

I agree and am totally aware of this. But unless things have changed recently (and they may have) the BATUS vehicles (no longer using Green) Sand or Tan is different to the shade used in the Demo Battalion at Warminster.
