Hi, Paul,
Nothing with fire!
It was an experimental AFV, intended to disturb laser systems of the enemy. Each hole holds a laser.
Only, two of them were build.
Due to the changing political and military climate, as well as due to the immense costs of each unit, the project was halted.
Personally, I hope that the fact that Trumpeter starts to produce a, more or less 'stuck in the design phase'AFV, will not be the start of a whole series of these products at the cost of there splendid range of 'regular' AFV's and guns "in use" ......

Agreed.. I'd much rather see vehicles that took part in actual conflicts... like in Syria, for example

and others of course!

we have Panzer 46', why not Soviet 96'!
I wonder what other "design only" soviet AFV's we will see in plastic. I bet the archives hold all kinds of odd treasures.

odd choice for sure, but as the kit gets out there and is available for less than initial MSRP it will make great sci-fi kit bash fodder.
I can't say I will rush out there and buy more than one of this or the TOS when it arrives, but I will eventually own at least one of each.
If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs,
perhaps you've misunderstood the situation.

If the oddball stuff gets released you can bet the mainline versions will follow later. (Months, not years. This is Trumpeter, not Tamiya.)

Holy Moley. Trumpeter is on a 1/35 modern Soviet / Russian High. It is the golden age of modern russian armor building now! Never thought I would see these days....wow.
BTW, this is one cool machine. It could do more than disrupt enemy lasers.
Now I can finally put a sound chip in with a model: "I'm Firing Mah LAZAH!"

Hi Everybody;
Now I know that there Crazy, this looks so Weird.
The lower hull has T-80 features and looks off canter altho it mite be the angle of the shot.
The only thing that I would have liked would have been the T-44, T-54, or the T-10m But that's just me.

I wonder if it's an actual future kit, or a pic of a modeller's scratch building project.. hence the question mark in the title! But people on their Facebook page were commenting like it's a future release.

Hi Chris;
Looking at the Hull, it Appears too be a New Hull.
When you look at the Side there are Storage Boxes mounted on the side and not on the Top, and they look Taller.
If this kit really is going too be released then it will be Quite Different from what Trumpeter has already Hit Us In The Head With.
Or Pocket Book if you like; MIKE.

Mike,
I noticed that too. Also the bow plane looks wanky (?). Its certainly a very interesting kit. Microwave emitter?
I'll pass on this one but I'd be up for the TOS version and the T72AV for sure... I love to see them do earlier ones too like the T-72A/B or even a Ural with the stereo scopic sight.

Hi;
CHRIS;) SBS makes the early T-72 Ural turret, I bought one and its pretty nice. And I only paid Eleven Fish for it.
I cant Understand why they undertook such a Risk at turning such a Odd looking Beast. Well I guess Trumpeter has the Market in there Back Pockets and can Afford It.

Hi Guys;
Sorry Guys, its the Ural Turret with the Stereoscopic Range Finder, and its by SKP. Not by SBS; SORRY MY BAD !!!
The Turret is really nice and is made just for the Tamiya kit and is casted just like the kits turret.

Simple re-use of the MSTA components - all the hull and some mods to the turret - just a bit of extra mileage for not much effort.
