I entered the recent MOSS Con 2013 Model Contest, which is my first model contest. This is one of 2 first places I received. The figure was built a few years back and the build can be found in the feature section.

Lookin good Ed!!
I take it from the info at the bottom of your post that you were a 11 hotel? Me too! I was an 11H P40 in the 82nd Abn till I got a med discharge.
The rappel guy looks great. Nice concept and congrats on your win. Is this a stock fig or did you modify it?

Yep, I retired as a 11 Hotel. My first 2.5 yrs was a 11 Bravo.

Without going into a lot of detail. The original figure was naked. All it had was the Kevlar only. The rope and swiss seat was made from a single string from the core of 550 cord. The large ruck and M16A1 came from my spare parts bin. The ragtop was made out of painted paper cut into small strips and painted.

This figure was selected a feature article back in 2006. It was titled "Rappelling at Fort Hunter-Liggett". It's link is "Rappelling at Fort Hunter-Liggett"

Cool. Very nice job and I like the fact that you used 550 cord. That stuff is almost as useful as hundred mile an hour tape.
