Here is a shot you won't see very often. I will have to check and see if the Archer decal set includes these items for the back of the splash board. It would finally be a good reason to pose the splash board in the extended position! (Never cared for the look of it up till now!)

OK, surf board NOT splash board. (I sit corrected)

YES!!! Archer makes the markings transfer set for the DUKW surf board. The lettering is in white rather than yellow and it is probably debatable which color is the more correct.
I would favor the yellow lettering but white is better than nothing and perhaps a yellow highlighter as a filter over the white lettering might do the trick???

Photo of DUKW from Victory Museum, Auburn, IN. (Late production vehicle with full wheel skirts. -- These skirts were often lost in the surf so it is not unusual to see mis-matched skirts on Olive Drab vehicles with a skirt having only gray primer paint or even one with a camo painted skirt on an OD vehicle.)

Michael instead of running a thread on this walk around I suggest you get your material together and send it in so that it can be turned into a walk around feature. That way it will always be available.

Deuces and DUKWs

A few sections of Treadway bridging, two DUKWs and you have a CCKW transport, ship to shore.

Darren, since your post I have looked into that option. Not really sure how to enroll/start such a thread but am open to the possibility. Are those features kept by the site longer than the forums? I have no idea how these things work with Armorama. I have found formuns dating back to 2005 using the search function on the site. So it appears that these things stay up on the site odd-infinitium???

Thanks for the suggestion and any further advice you may offer.

Mike

DUKW on display at the Indiana Military Museum:

I don't think this one is going to float . . .

(Photographer Unknown)

It might not float but apparently it still drives because here it is at the Evansville LST event.

An old hobby competition adage says; "He who has the best references wins!"

I can highly recommend the many Tech Manuals available from Easy 1 Productions. Great reference material at usually a much lower price than the actual paper Tech Manuals AND in a much smaller package! This includes the disc covering the DUKW.

Caption says this hulk is somewhere in Iran as abandoned by the Russians. Someone needs to model a DUKW with the floorboards removable and all the "innards" showing. (But not me!)
