While my head is full british armour and my up and coming projects, I was thinking, the M3 and M4 played a significant role in the desert fighting of WWII. While looking through one of my Osprey book, I have seen some pictures of Wolves in Sheeps clothig i.e. Shermans and Grants with a fake lorry sunshade over the top. Has anyone tried to do this (create the sunshades)?
Also Sheep in wolves clothing may be interesting as well. Again looking through the Osprey book there is a picture of a four wheeled vehicle with a canvas body that of the Crusader, has anyone tried this?
Would be interested to know.
Cheers

Someone did one of these on here about a year ago. You can make the frame using thin aluminum tube. This will bend to a nice rounded 90 degree angle. You can make crossmembers as well. Use a rat tail file to bevel the ends and superglue will hold these together. The cover can be made from tissue soaked in white glue and laid across.
I used this technique to make a M151 based ambulance several years ago.
