I was looking over the newer Revell 2A6M (35th) kit and noticed that they give you decals to put on the back of the rear stowage bins. On the real thing are these painted onto the actual stowage bin mesh or are they on placards? If they are painted directly onto the stowage bins, a solid decal wouldn't look right because they would cover the holes in the mesh, right?

Every reference I've seen has placards zip-tied to the bustle racks.. Prime portals walkaround is an excellent peice of work. It will help you massively.

Awesome...that was what I was hoping. I was going to replace the kit racks with some PE ones but was thinking if they aren't placards, the decal would look odd over the PE. Thanks

I am actually thinking of taking the M parts from the Revell and using it on the Tamiya kit. Side skirts appear to be the same size. Aftermarket exists for the Tamiya kit but nothing so far for the revell kit
