Fantastic job mate. Nailed the weathering, just enough to be noticed at a distance, not too over done!

What was the kit like? I have always wanted to build one of these in 1/35 but didn't like the resin price tag. I have never heard of Riich.

Augusto, well done, this a nice kit from Riich that you painted without an over weathering.

i not use a extreme weathering because the rso skoda had short service life, i hope you like that.

More reference material on the Riich models RSO and also a build log on creating the original pre-production prototype can be seen at:

The green engine is a liberty I chose to take. My thinking was that since the prototype vehicle was quite possibly going to be reviewed personally by Hitler, I thought the engineers might want to "spiff" it up a bit. Also I thought this was probably a standard Skoda or Steyr air cooled engine and perhaps simply ordering one stock, in a crate from the factory would get you the civilian paint rather than the military version.

Augusto,

quite plausible. I like that it brings interest to the model.

Augusto - If you look on page 27 of the Brojo Skoda reference book the engine in the prototype vehicle appears to actually be gloss black. The later photos of the engine on a demo stand that appear to be either yellow or light grey are of a maintenance training engine and not the actual engine used in the prototype.

Also the prototype vehicle was overall dark grey and not dark yellow as you indicated.

As to the green engine color; I took a "liberty", call it artistic license. A liberty means one intentionally departs from reality for an altered (perhaps improved) artistic affect.

As it turns out the air ducting on the prototype engine was significantly different from the production engine so I am going to have to tear up my engine work to date and back track a little to correct this. However I will probably leave the engine green.

Regards

Mike K.

p.s. I really like your paint and weathering efforts on the BTR! Great model. Kudos.
