Gary,

I don`t have to contribute very much but still want to let you know that your work, especially your craftmanship regarding the new sculpted parts are very inspiring. It looks absolutely believable to me and ist very well done. Respect. The painting is also absolutely beautiful.

@Christopher: Simply because a handgrenade, an old jerrycan and some litres of gasoline in it make a very powerful weapon if thrown on the rear deck of a tank. Nothing else than a bigger version of a molotov-cocktail.

Best Regards

Dennis

Exactly what I was thinking, uber Molotov. Then again, there wasn't much fuel left in Berlin, sure would be a surprise for some Russian tankers though.

OK Gents, Nice to hear that the final result has gone down well! I can honestly say that this blog has been a pleasure, simply from the interaction and input from all of you. Questions asked and opinions offered. All have made this figure what it is. My personal opinion is that this is how all blogs should be. There's a bit of all of you in this figure! Thanks Guys!
James: As far as I know, Citadel do make Green stuff. I've not used that particular brand but, no doubt it's the same stuff. I've never used the liquid grren stuff so, I can't comment on that. The blue/yellow milliput is the stuff I use though.
Romain: Thanks for the kind comments my friend. Your advice during this build has been much appreciated!
Jerry: What can I say, mate! The groundwork was pretty much copied from your techniques from your HJ Build. Ideas filched shamelessly! As for finishing it, I literally had to get it painted and the groundwork done in a couple of nights (work and SWMBO), so pretty much luck that we finished together!:)
Andy: You refer back to this all you want, mate! Just the same as I'm referring back to your Splinter article and the US Para over on MilMod right now!
Christopher/Dennis: Spot on about the jerrycan. The idea was to set the guy at Neuruppin in the closing days of the war. if you google 'SS FJ Btn Neuruppin', you'll get the idea of why I put in the jerrycan/grenade combo!
Karl: Thanks Buddy, nice to see you've stayed the course on this one. I always value your opinion!
Once again guys, thanks for making this a good experience. Let's see what we can do next...
All the best Lads,
Gary

Whoa! How did I miss the end of this? Looks great! I love the potato masher with the fuel can, definitely using that in a future project. Not much to say that hasn't been said already! Looking forward to the next project!

Hi Gary,

I've been watching this post with much interest. I'm working on a figure conversion myself so I was curious to see your techniques and gather as many tips as possible! I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours!

One question, forgive me if I missed it, but where did you end up sourcing the ammo belts for your guy? I'm also working on a figure with belts draped over his shoulders and am at kind of a standstill. I'm thinking styrene is the way to go for bend-ablity, maybe dragon Gen 2 if I can track one down...?

You can heck out my build here:

Of course I am open to any suggestions or critiques
Cheers on your fantastic project!

I just have to say 'Götterdämmerung' is by far one of the coolest dio/vigs I've ever seen. I love Heer and SS camos and especially the zelt so naturally I'd love it just for your capturing the camo tone and hue perfectly, however, the whole direction of this just amazing. Cheers

Edit: You should really do a Splinter, Sumpfmuster, and SS camouflage painting tutorial or guide of some kind. I'd really like to know what brand and colors you use, how you thin them and technique etc. Thanks again!
