Nice job on the StuG and dio Luca, but the camo on the figures is fantastic. Great patience to do this on so many figures. It all looks great.

Ciao Luca,
Ma che bello!!!
You just made my blood pressure go up!!!
You actually CAN show such enlarged photos....and the painting on the figs still looks almost flawless! There are few figure painters that match this situation, Bill Horan's US sharpshooter cover of Military Modelling or else Diego Ruina's romans..!!
And than there is this superb Stug with nice Waffelmuster Zimmerit....a (slightly) damaged Kübelwagen...and some extremely convincing terrain to round it off! What can I say other than....
My congratulations Signore!!!!!
Cheers
Romain

This is a very fine diorama Luca- it conveys an excellent sense of dejection from the figures- particularly the two facing rearward on the Stug. All the camo and detail painting on the figures is excellent- the use of light and shade, especially on their equipment, is expertly done and the camo pattern itself is very convincing. The scattered and destroyed bits and pieces on the road are fantastic additions to the scene too- particularly the tones of the ground around the burnt out Kubelwagen. The tones and shades on the Stug itself are also nicely done. All in all- a fantastic diorama Luca.

Fantastic camouflage painting on the figs. I also like the overall palette of colours in the whole diorama which makes it a micro-world that diorama making is all about. Outstanding!

The stug is mighty fine but what really impressed me was the figgies! Super nice painting on their faces and cammo,

Hi Luca,
I can only agree to my previous speakers: the diorama itself is great, but the figures are marvellous.
The detailed camo and all these lights and shadows, togeher with perfect skin colour - excellent work!
How did you manage to paint these very thin parallel dark stripes on the camo? Just a fine brush and thinned color?
Cheers
Thomas

Thanks a lot.
For the thin paralled lines (the hardest work) I used micromark brushes (I can only recommend them) and very thinned color (Vallejo). I also tried with oils, but Vallejo (thinned with their glaze) work better to me.

Very well done, I am inspired to try and accomplish something simular though not to the same degree. For I suck at painting figures. Some day I will get close to such techniques.

This is fantastic work.
Two questions about the figures. What manufacturer(s) makes these?
How did you paint the wonderful splinter camouflage?
Just awesome all-around.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Figures are from Black Dog, Warriors, Stalingrad (the tank commander) and Total War. All received Hornet heads.
The splinter camo was painted with Acrylic Vallejo, thinned with their glaze to avoid fast drying. It is a very time consuming work, needing continuous adjustments... Especially the splinter camo "water tan", with the soft edges, is actually a nightmare... It required several attempts before being acceptable... I can only suggest using very good brushes (W&N 000 and MicroMark), very thinned colors and a LOT of patience...

Those camos are absolutely insane!! How did you get them so realistic. What colours did you use? What order/techniques did you use? They are so good!!
Thanks
