I agree. tamiya would be my suggestion. Their older kits run about ~20 and are good for getting started. Accuracy might be iffy at times, but they go together easy.
I like to get one of their cheaper kits to act as a refresher or try out new techniques. I've been thinking about a T-62 for awhile now. Darn you world of tanks.

Tamiya for sure, try to get some mid 1990s product like Panzer IV ausf H, Stug III ausf G, Tiger I, TigerII, Panther ausf G or Panzer III ausf L.
