Hi fellas,
Okay, so now I've finished the SAS Pink Panther I'd like to start another one but as a green hornet in Northern Ireland.
However, there is a problem trying to find the correct size wheel rim & tyre.
As you can see from the photos below there is a small problem regarding size.
The one on the left is the resin effort from Mouse House which is a copy of the Tamiya Land Rover ambulance wheel.
The wheel in the middle is the Hussar sand tyre & the large one is a set I managed to get hold of for a 1 tonne Land Rover.
The SAS green hornet was fitted with a non directional bar tread tyre at size 9.00x15 just like the same size sand tyre by Hussar. The problem is the Mouse house tyre is too small (although, I have to admit that from the photos above it might not seem like it is. However, trust me when I say it is too small) & the 1 tonne tyre is too large at 9.00x16.
Therein is the problem.
Can anybody point me in the right direction for correct tyre sizes, please?
I need a non directional bar tread tyre & rim for a Land Rover at size 9.00x15.
Any ideas?
Joe.

Hi Terry,
Already got those mate & they dont work!
The wheel rims are completely wrong having six wheel nuts as opposed to the correct five.
Sorry mate.
I am working on a solution right now, though.
Thanks for your help, anyway, Terry. Much appreciated.

Hi Peter,
The sand tyres are Hussar Productions #35086 & I bought mine from Air Connection.
Go onto their website & you'll find them there.
Keith,
Yes, I did get your PM. Reply inbound, mate.

Hi Terry,
I think we're getting a little mixed up here, mate.
Two of the tyres above show the non-directional bar tread tyre which is what you would normally find on a 109 Land Rover. This tread is shown on the smaller resin tyre in the photo & replicated in the white metal casting of the 1tonne Land Rover tyre. So both these tyres have the same tread. The smaller resin tyre is from Mouse House (in Australia) & the metal casting is from Firing Line here in the UK.
The sand tyre (ie: with the 'lines' running parallel around the circumference of the tyre) are from Hussar Productions & the part number is 35086. These are the tyres I have fitted to my SAS Land Rover Pink Panther shown in the build log I have running.
Hope this helps.
Joe.

Hello mate ,sorry wasn't trying to be a Pain, been modeling land rovers for years.
Bar grip tyres with 16 inch rims,or more unusually 19 inch rims .
Fireing line was 101 was originally dartmoor models whom made bar grips.
I took out the centre part cast bar grip tyres then added 16 inch rims and re cast the. Tyres.
