Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear the current website isn’t to your taste! Since receiving the mantle of MAFVA webslinger I’ve been focusing my efforts on backstage stuff rather than a grand redesign, although in the fulness of time that too might happen.

I don’t think this forum is the best place to get into lengthy discussions about new designs (far too much typing would be required!) but if you want to come find me at a show I’d be happy to discuss your ideas face to face. I’ll be at Shoeburyness Model Railway Show on Sun 24 Nov, then possibly Islington show in Dec (not sure yet), and of course On Track in Folkestone next Feb/March…

Regards,
Tom Cromwell

Hi Tom
Firstly I have not stated anywhere that it is not to my taste as I designed said web site originally!!!!! & there was no criticism on your role as web master. :-)
Now seeing as you took over the reigns last February so to speak it would have been nice to see a change of some sort by now.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

No offence taken! I had heard that you were once webmaster for MAFVA, but did not know the current site started as your design.

I think we may be labouring under some misaprehensions here regarding my remit. When I was brought in when Bill was stepping down it was mainly to "carry on" rather than any presumption of a revamp. However, I agree that it could benefit from a facelift (what website wouldn't? Armorama.com excepted, of course...), but that wasn't the stated priority.

Instead, I've been looking at the underlying structure with an eye towards reworking elements to make them more streamlined since the plethora of underlying sub-folders, files, and pages shows all the signs of a long-lived website that has been growing "organically" since its birth. In the fulness of time I do hope to be able to rebuild the pages for a fresher "public" look, but at the moment my changes (other than new content) will be mostly hidden from view. My own time is limited (this is a hobby, after all!) so I'm still prioritising clean structure over new style for now.

Regards,
Tom
