I'd like to pair up AFV's 3"M5 with Dragon's M3A1 Halftrack. Was there any modification done to the halftrack for ammo storage and to turn it into a prime mover?

Wasn't the M2 supposed to be the arty prime mover and the M3 for infantry transport?

Not telling, just asking. I don't know, myself.

The captions on both Frenchies'pic and this one ID's the halftrack as an M3. In the above pic it looks like the ammo is just stacked up between the seats in their fibreboard tubes. So no structural changes to the vehicle?

I found this on Wikipedia:
A towed TD battalion possessed 36 pieces, in three companies of 12.[8] M3 Halftracks were issued as prime movers.

I remember reading a book a long time ago about the US Tank Destroyer Force and the 3-inch and 57-mm AT guns were towed by both M-3 and M-2 ( as it had the cargo boxes in the sides) half-tracks depending on what was available at the time the unit was equipped for training and then when it went in theater, I have also heard the same thing from a Vet that used to live next store to me prior to his passing.
