Masterbox In Progress

Just noticed the in progress link on the Masterbox site has a BUNCH of new figure sets late war Soviets in a truck, early war Soviets talking to a civilian, two sets of late war U.S. paratroops with civilians (one recreates a scene from Band of Brothers in Holland); there are also 3 modern figure sets in the works, one with a casualty, one with an EPW (complete with sandbagged head), and one with vehicle crewmen handing out candy to kids. They all look pretty decent, although some of the weapons are disappointing choices in the modern sets. Looks to me like the wallet is going to be taking some hits again...

They look very good John.
My wallet too.
Gotta love Master Box.
I hope the guy in the passenger seat will fit in a humvee or another vehicle because I'm not going through another MATV build. .

Some nice sets, thanks for the heads up.
The modern sets are only three, but they're nice, I think

I wish they (or any other brand that produces decent injection molded plastic figures -- Dragon, Miniart, Zvesda sometimes ...) would produce Chechen War Russian figures and cold war infantry figures to go with the many Russian/Soviet tanks that are arriving.
Also israeli figures from 1982 onwards, namely from the 2006 war, to go with the new Merkavah tanks.
Nowadays it is possible to build a great kit of a Russian or Israeli tank but then you have no figures to produce a diorama or even small vignette ... unless you go for the resin figures, often expensive and not that great.
Lets hope the saint protector of modellers hears the calling!

They look pretty good to me. I like how they design their figures in non-standard poses, not attacking and pointing poses.
They also have a new Vietnam figure set coming.

I really like the special forces in Afganistan set.
Seems to be one of their best and some of those figures would go great with the Meng's pick-ups.

From the episode replacements. When they're travelling with the British armour and they see the poor dutch woman with her baby and shaved head for being a collaborator.
The set with the M-ATV the figures seem to be holding awkward weapons for that time frame. One soldier appears to have a Galil and the m203 with birdcage seems abit dated. I hope they change the weapons otherwise I;m going to live resin. But that being said, they look good and will bring life to the M-ATV

My thoughts exactly I have one of my pickups and a Gaz truck it would make an excellent diorama

I see the detainee turning up with the other figures in the set and mixed in with others. God knows we did a ton of raids in support of units as well as on our own when we were chasing Saddam and the other characters in the deck of cards back in '03. Got to see if my hand is steady enough to replicate the work our Sharpie artist did with our EPW sand bags -- he put a frowny face on them with MR. EPW across the top. I definitely agree about the pick up trucks, that set is really versatile.
