Guys, Can the new Meng 1/35 scale Leopard 1 A3/A4 be built as a Cdn 1A3 version OOB, or do we need conversions?
TIA

Hi Brad,
You can't build the kit OOB as a Canadian C1. You are correct that a conversion is required.
If you are patient a conversion may be available in the near future.
Hardly anything modern Canadian related is ever OOB.

Still need the track jam conversion. The turrets aren't exactly the same, you need the bird cage on the turret mantlet for the laser sights, and there are somethings on the hull that need to be changed.

Thanks for the replies.
Jason, is a conversion being developed for this kit, or for the older Tamiya/Italeri kits?
Thanks
Brad

The Trackjam conversion may not work for the MENG kit simply because the turret assemble differently.

There already is the Trackjam late version Leopard C1 for the Italeri Leopard 1A4 kit...it is a great conversion.
I would think the likelihood of a C1 conversion based on the MENG kit is pretty good...but it won't be overnight.

We still have some TJM -002 Leopard C1 (late) conversions in stock. They are designed for the Italeri nr244 kit and will definitely not privide everythin you need to convert the MENG kit to a C1. Once our TJM-003 Leopar C2 MEXAS kit project is complete, I will be looking at a new C1 copnversion for the MENG kit. The major issue will be the right front turret side, which is different than an A3 or A4. I will also be looking at reproducing the decal sheet that we did through QMD for the C1 Early kit. More to follow.
