Of course, ANOTHER Tiger. It's a lot cheaper for DRAGON to tweak some old molds than to come up with something really new... They've already shot their wads with the M48 and M103. Stay tuned for more Pz.IIIs and SdKfz 10s...

I believe its described as being a successful business - you know making money as opposed to some model makers charity !!

Choosing a product that will make money once their initial investment in the product is covered.

Who knows it may even be that being successful and making money on this will allow them to invest in new projects which may or may not be a subject that you want to see come out in kit form.

What he said.

Dont like it? Dont buy it, simples.

Its not like Dragon is the only kit manufacturer out there, theres plenty of companies coming out with diverse subjets. It just so happens DML have the WW2 German market nailed, and they do it incredibly well..

This is GREAT news as the Cyber-Hobby mid-Tiger sold out before some of us who pre-ordered could get one. David Byrden has done so much to improve the accuracy of Dragon's Tigers, these new kits are a big improvement and not merely a re-boxing of earlier inaccuracies.

I wish Dragon would release some Tiger 1 kits with everything in the box. And when I say everything I'm talking about all the latest features such as -

All lights and periscopes in clear plastic

Hollowed out machine gun barrels

and last but not least........individual track links and not just those DS ones ( which i can't stand).

They've done it with the King Tigers so why not the Tiger 1 also?

Agreed! Of course what you just wrote regarding money-making kits is obvious to everyone. My point is that DRAGON and/or ASUKA/TASCA already have a lot of common parts in the various M4 and M7 kits that could be useful in producing a state-of-the-art M3 Lee/Grant kit, which IS STILL a very important AND relevant representative of early WWII US/Allied armor. British and Commonwealth Lend-Lease Grants, along with US M3 Lees were instrumental components in helping to defeat the AFRIKAKORPS.

I think that many modellers will agree with me in that the DRAGON M4-series Sherman, M7 Priest and of course the terrific ASUKA/TASCA Shermans have been very successful with armor modellers.

There are plenty of modellers out there that would actually welcome a new Lee/Grant. There are some of us who don't see another 1/35 Tiger I as an absolutely necessary element for life to continue as we know it...

How important a tank may have been is, i'm afraid, largely irrelvent to kit manufacturers. The Little Wille is probably the most important AFV out there, but we dont see too many companies rushing out to produce that

This may appear to be the case from reading the opinions of a few modellers on forums, but i'd love to see some sales figures from retailers to back that up.

The members of this and other forums represent a very small niche of worldwide modellers, I'd say that if Tasca/Asuka have decided to give up with Shermans it means they didnt sell enough of them.

That may be the case, however again I refer you to my above comment. There might be plenty of modellers on forums who appear to want a new M3, but without actually going out and conducting a poll, this may not be the case globally. And again i'd suggest, the fact that no company has bothered with the M3 means they dont think it will sell.

Dragon arent stupid, they are in this to make money. The fact they keep churning out Tiger kits means that they must sell a lot of them. If Shermans sold as well as Tigers then this would be "oh not another Sherman" thread....

I have no vendetta against allied subjects and the new Tiger does very little for me. However all of us have our interests and too often get blinkered by this, assuming that the manufacturers are missing a trick by not releasing certain kits we desire.
