Hi!
I have this kit, but I'm a bit confused with the camo scheme.
The WWII IJN Type2 (Ka-Mi) Amphibious Tank w/Floating Pontoons Late Production (Plastic model) 6712 kit show an overall "green" color camo.
IJN Type 2 Amphibious Tank (Ka-Mi) w/Floating Pontoon Early Production (Plastic model) 1/72 scale show a dark grey/gray scheme.
So, the paint of japanese tanks change from grey to green from the early to late model?.
The late kit, show in the instructions, some options for "early" ones.
So, I stuck in the correct color.
Any help? TIA
Regards
Alvaro

Both GRAY or DARK GREEN colors are correct for the KA-MI Japanese tanks. Check your references for which color you want to paint your KA-MI. I have 2 KA-MIs in my collection; I painted the "pontoons" model in DARK GREEN, and my "without pontoons" in GRAY...

Could the colors be theater of operation specific ? Gray maybe China or Manchuria and the greens are the jungles and the Pacific ?

According to the AJ Press book on Japanese camouflage, the steel grey paint was superceded by the green by the Phillipines battles.

Alvaro, what Matt said is correct. The color would depend on where you want to show the tank in action. Tanks that went ashore on Leyte still had their amphibious gear and were knocked out in with much of it in place. These were green and are the type best represented by late type kit.
