Side fuel tank brackets next. Mini dio anyways. Just the cables but no kamatsu

Actually they do make 1/50 komatsu bulldozers. Ill look for a good price :-)

I know it's crazy it could work after 62 years. Makes you wonder why the Germans dumped it??? Had full ammo too I'm guessing the cost of gas was too great at the time

I'm pretty certain it was diesel shortage that forced them to dump it - the German tanks ran on gasoline and diesel was not high on the production priority list.

That said, its amazing what peat can do to preserve stuff - I mean, look at the cross: it looks painted very recently, not 70+ years ago.

According to a conversation I had with one of the guys involved with the restoration of the tank the "little bit of clean up" involved a whole lot of disassembly and clean up!
But they didn't apparently have to replace any major parts.

As for why it was ditched, there was no diesel in any of the fuel tanks when it was pulled from the lake so a lack of fuel does seem to have been the reason.
