Hi, There,

I've got an old Tamiya Type 97 Ch-Ha kit and was wondering if anyone produced an aftermarket engine kit?

So far, I have not found anything on the market...

Thanks, Folks!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

I was never able to locate any engine, or interior for the type 97. Japanese armor doesn't get the attention of other armor subjects.

Is it for a wreck or an open deck showing off the whole engine compartment?
If just for a wreck, and you're just showing a hint of the engine, Verlinden makes a V-12 diesel for the T-62. You might as well use it in your build as it's useless for anything else.

Edit:

Scratch that. You'd have to buy their whole crappy conversion for that. Maquette makes a passable engine for the T-34. It's a V-12 as well, and will cost you all of about $5.

Thanks, Guys...

Guess I shouldn't be surprised...and yet...

Maybe with Dragon releasing Japanese armor kits, we'll see that change.

Yep, Robert, I'm planning on doing a wrecked Chi-Ha... Who knows, maybe I can scrounge something up in the spares bin. Actually been kind of fun working on the old Tamiya Chi-Ha and Hi-Ni kits I pulled out of the garage. Also hoping to convert the Shinhoto Chi-Ha into the 120mm howitzer tank --- hey, why not, right?

Thanks again for the input, Guys --- hope we see some AM for Japanese kits at some point.

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.
