check out the MLRS RRV..its a specialty built vehicle for supporting the MLRS. Its a British built vehicle.

also there's a command/control version w/ a huge box on the back, unfortunately can't remember the nomenclature.

Last week I sold several incomplete kits. I should get more in soon. You can build anything you see in those photos from these kits. They're only missing a few parts from the launcher, and the pods.

Here's the link to my ad last week showing how nearly complete the kits are.
If you're interested, PM me so I"ll remember you when I get more in.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options for the M270.

All of the above are great options. Here are a couple that were mentioned.

British MLRS RRV

M4 C2V

Here are some more:

IDF MLRS

New IDF test SP Howitzer

Apparently, the new M933-based SP howitzer is German-made and is known as the Donar. It has been evaluated by the IDF. No idea if it will be fielded or not.

More info on it:

"The Artillery Gun Module (AGM, Artillerie-Geschütz-Modul) is an air-portable self-propelled howitzer designed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. It is based on technology used in the German Army Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) system, to provide more air portable self-propelled artillery, transportable by Airbus A400 aircraft.

The system is fully autonomous, the crew sitting in the cab, with similar performance to the PzH 2000, but with reduced cost, crew levels and weight. The AGM uses the PzH 2000 ballistic fire-control computer with integrated NATO Armaments Ballistic Kernel and the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann Artillery Command and Control System. It is a modular system, the gun module can be fitted on a tracked or wheeled chassis. Costs can be reduced by fitting it to a users suitable chassis of choice. Current development vehicles use a MLRS chassis. A vehicle independent auxiliary power unit (allowing the gun to be used with the carrier engine shut down) and an inertial reference unit with a Global Positioning System (GPS) connection are fitted. During trials in 2006, a demonstrator vehicle fired a volley of ten 155 mm rounds in 2 minutes and 19 seconds with a crew of two being seated in the fully armour protected cab."

It looks pretty cool.

It looks like the M933 hull has been lengthened by one road wheel. I may have to build one...eventually.

Looking at the photos, that isn't a M933 in the first two photos. The cab and engine area are different and it looks like its based on a Leopard drive train. BUT the third photo is built on the M933.
I'm thinking about building a M4 out of my MLRS just have to collect some photos..

You're right, I missed that. Looks like they are also going with a home-grown varient as well.

Thanks for uploading the photo's Gino !

The German system looks interesting, wondering if the lower hull is based off the Pzh 2000 system ?

That begs the question, why not just buy a PHZ2000 to begin with?

No, the 7 wheel DONAR lower hull is derived from Austria ASCOD ICV chassis, with one extra wheel.

But the AGM turret itself is completely self contained, automated and unmanned during firing. It is designed to be fitted to any suitable chassis that can carry the weight and absorb the recoil.

The turret was first demoed on a M993 in 2004, where it was a drop in replacement for the rocket box, but almost all other m270 features were left intact.

It was subsequently also demoed on a Leo 2 chassis, and the wheeled Boxer MPAV chassis.

Because pzh2000 is a hulking 57 ton beast that could keep up with a leo 2 and has enough armor to defeat a counter battery attack using EFP submunitions.

It's a lot more gun than anyone not planning to take it along on a deep armor thrust against an enemy with strong counter fire capability would need.

Many customers wants something that can be transported in a C-130 or A400M, and don't plan to fight the group of soviet forces in Germany with it.
