Hey guys!
Went to the WTS in Koblenz on Saturday and made some pics of the MBT 70 there, it is the 152mm main gun + 20mm canon prototype.
Reading about how bad the new MENG Leo1 kit supposedly is I got the chance to look the kit a friend has. Personally I think the MENG kit is an improvement over the Italerie kit and looking at the side-skirts I think MENG has come rather close to the real thing.
Of course improvement must be made ... but that was already the deal with the Italerie kit ... and thank god it does not consist of 1500 parts !
If of interest I can upload some more pics of the MBT 70, the friend which accompanied me made a lot of pics with a better camera which I can access.
Cheers
Christopher

Very nice! The German version is so much cooler looking than the U.S. version especially with those metric bolts!

Thanks a lot for the pictures, Christopher!!
If I'm not mistaken there was an announcment of a resin MBT 70/Kpz 70 not long ago, don't remember who it was.
I personnally prefer working with plastic as it is so much esier. But finally one has to be satisfied with the kit released.
According to Murphy's law I'll have bought an expensive resin kit if a plastic kit will come!?
At the moment I still hope!

Years ago I built an MBT70 in 1/48th scale by Aurora...wonder if any of those are haunting ebay.
