Anzac II,
Looked verie nice! I really admire your determination and skills in making dio materials out of everyday stuffs instead of purchasing AM items. This is skill.
I love the look of it, and cant wait to see more.
Good work! The sheep will be proud.

So far so good !! one lil notice , the brick wall seems a lil shiny or glossy for being exposed to weather conditions. Or is just the photo shooting ?
Keep on till the end

Andy,
I knew painting wasn't done yet.... If you have a go at the wall, be sure to add a cement color between the individual stones. Also be sure not to have all the stones in the same color. When you are at the drybrushing stage, use different colour for drybrushing, giving your stones their own "individual identity".
Finally I'm still puzzling with the sewer pipe...may because I can't see the back side of it.... how does it fit in the overall scene...what does it do, why is it closed on one side....no crytics intended on this matter.... just questions that play in my mind every time I look at it. I feel I miss the overall picture of the diorama.

Nice in-progress work Andy. It'll be interesting to see just how that sewer pipe comes into play...... Which Brit figures did you use?

Coming along nicely Andy. Will there be an enemy figure hiding out in the sewer? Great to see the progress pictures. Wish everybody would do a little more of this!
If I may offer a tip here. When I painted my wall for the cover-up dio I tried something that I was very pleased with. For the wash I used a very light grey pastel dust, some light grey tamiya acrylic ( a few drops) and diluted both with Isoproponal ( tamiya thinner would do). Then I stirred and stirred until the pastel disolved as much as possible and then used this as the wash. It gives a 100% flat cement look, fills up the crevice nicely and dont worry if leaks out. Using a damp coton bud wipe away, leaving a concrete-like residue on the painted bricks. Totally convincing. This was my last step.
I painted all the bricks using different shades of brick red mixed with browns, leather and flesh. And the occasional brick with dark grey for contrast. Washed them all a few times with burnt umber and black and dark green. I kept my colour lighter so when the washes were added i didnt end up with a black or very dark wall.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

Danny,
thinking about you said about seeing the end of the sewer,I may add some bars as if it has been blocked off. What do you think?
Nate,
I am using DML's Red Devil figures.
Plasticbattle,
Thanks for the tip i will definatly give that a go. yes there will be a german hiding in there and another one by the entrance.
Thanks for all the comments guys.

Andy,
it depends on what purpose the sewerpipe serves.... I still haven't got a good overall look on the dio. maybe you could make and post a picture from the other side (looking towards the sewer pipe from the back)....

andrew - what is the stuff at the very bottom of the diorama? Is it going to be a dry drain?
As far as adding bars, I wouldn't add them at the very back of the sewer. Bars would be added to keep people and animals out of it and would be put near the entrance of the tube. I wouldn't recommend adding them any farther back than about 12 scale inches or so. A couple of thoughts about the 'back'. I think once you add figures In the sewer your eyes won't be drawn ot the back as much. If you want to break up the view to back a bit more you can but some bars near the front and bend them or break them so the Germans can still gain access to the hiding point. This will give the viewer two plains to view. The first being the bars and the second being the figures positioned right behind them. With a flat black coat of paint I don't think that viewers look farther back.

Thanks for that scott. The stuff at the bottom is sand but i am beginning to think it is a bit out of scale. thanks for the comments about the bars, I will probaly just leave them off.
