I think the combination of these two old sets makes a nice setting for a diorama... but the street seems a bit narrow with that pavement, or is it my imagination?

Looks like a 2 donkey lane street to me.

Might be able to squeeze a jeep through that archway, or maybe an ANA toyota pick up!

Just a typical really narrow street found in older sections of the city. Although the grassy triangle in the front is atypical for an urban area, and I would 'pave'it and put in a bit of market place.

Ooops! Sorry Hisham, I shouldn't be telling you how to model your own 'back yard'. But haven't you seen 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'?

Looks great!!
I would buy it
Is the base your own creation?
The walls in the back fits right in.
Just clear the grassy bit, as Biggles2 suggest
Every where in the middle east/north africa you will find these narrow streets.

No, repynot, this is not my work.. this pic is from their site.. sorry for the misunderstanding
Biggles2.. actually this is not so much "my backyard".. these kind of buildings you can find more to the westt of here.. starting maybe from Libya.. and all the way to Morocco. But you're right, that grassy part takes from the street. It might look "in place" if you would build some kind of pavement around it with bricks, or maybe a short fence, so that it looks like a man-made garden.. but still, I think it takes from the street itself and limits what vehicles you can use.
Then again, I've learned never to say never when it comes to things like this.. as anything is feasible

I don't recognize the arch and wall bit in the rear corner. Is that something from Verlinden? Clever combination and easy to copy.

As I stated in the News post on this and confirmed by Hisham above...
The buidlings are more N. Africa / Marocco than Middle East. They look nice, just not really good for a Middle East setting.

If you do a Google image search for "old Cairo" and "old Morocco", you'll find there are a few similarities, but a lot of differences in the style of the architecture.
One prominent feature you see in windows in "old Cairo" neighborhoods are what we call in Arabic "Mashrabiya".. which is kind of like a bay window, but covered with this cross hatch woodwork which is designed so that women could watch the streets from inside the houses, but not be seen from the outside. Also, the material buildings are built from is different.
But, I do think that with some changes.. and painted with different colors, they could pass for buildings on the North shore of Egypt.. like in the El-Alamein area, which I believe is influenced more with Libyan architecture.. even the accent people speak with in that area is more Libyan than Egyptian!

These buildings are so reminiscent of 1920's/30's Spain, they could form part of a diorama of the Spanish civil war!
I haven't built a dio in over 30 years I just might buy a kit and put to one side until I have finished the 2 ships I have on the workbench.
