The only Romans I know of are 1/56 ( 28 mm )figures from Warlord Games . Lots of troop sets in plastic multi pose and some sets in metal . Lots of extras like catapults , cavalry and command groups avalible . Various Enemy armys as well but who is who I'm afraid I have no clue . Not my area of interest . I do have some of Warlord WW2 stuff and its well detailed and builds up well . Check out their website .Hope this helps

If scale is not a problem, just take a look here for some sets in 1/72nd scale :

Unfortunately Warlord Games romans do not qualify at all! They depict troops from the early imperial period, while the Punic Wars require republican soldiers!
In 20mm there are certainly Zvezda figures! If they are anything like their napoleonic figures, they would be superb! And then there are Ceasar and Hät and others!!
For more info on 20mm-1/72(6) figures, you can consult this site
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Periods.aspx
It gives top info on all the sets currently on the market!
There are so many different troops involved on the Carthaginian side (mercenaries, celts, numidian cavalry, war elephants, etc) that I would strongly recommend you choose carefully the battle you want to show.
Hope that helps a little
Good luck with the project
Cheers
Romain

Hi thanks for the replies i forgot to say it's
1/32 scale or 54mm.
I was thinking to use this but that might not fit the time frame

If price is not an issue, you may want to consider Andrea's resin kit.

Hi thanks for your replies, no Andreas kit is too expensive.
I think i go with Hät figures and make the best of it.

Awesome vignette, but rather suited for fantasy purposes (LOTR o.s.).
The elephant is far too big!! Carthaginian elephants were of a north african type (Loxodonta cyclotis), similar in size to the indian elephant, not the (for our understanding typical) huge african beast.
1/32 for this period..!! Hard to find anything really!
Cheers

It would depend upon how big your battle scene would be, El Viejo Dragon has several roman and carthaginian 54mm metal figures suitable for this timeperiod, also several macedonian troops and greek hoplites that could be made into carthaginians with a little work: http://www.elviejodragon.com/asp-inc/vdpag001.asp?P1=AS9

I guess the figures on this page would require more than "a little work"

Sorry don't know of anything in 1/32 . I have seen some nice figures made from the old Airfix 1/32 scale Multi - Pose sets from the Seventies ( think their all OOP now although Airfix is repopping some Armour kits so we can hope). You might try to find some Historex figures ( are they still made ? ). They had muti pose male and female nudes in 54mm that really worked well for conversions.

These figures are 28mm (roughly 1/56) but they are high quality and paint up nicely.

Ares Mythologic and Alive History have punic war figures in 54 mm scale.
