I would imagine that you could use it straight from the can. However, you must remember that spray cans are very difficult to control the thickness of the paint. I would recommend decanting it and running it through your ab.

Hi Barry:
Light thin coats should be no problem in that scale. And as Matt said, you can decant it and run it through your airbrush. But also just to let you know, Testors also sells both glosscoat and dullcoat in bottles for airbrushing.

I've never had any problems using it straight from the can. Just build it up slowly with light passes over the model.

I sprayed some dullcote from my airbrush today and it was super thick. So thick that it was hard to spray. Any thoughts?

When you use Dull Coat from the bottle thin it way down thats what I do and get good results. As far as the rattle can goes as stated before lite coats keep the can at least 12 inches from your subject this is the way I do it and get very good results. ACESES5 ON BENCH REVELLE F4PHAMTON C/D

I thin it down about 60:40 to 50:50 (Dull Coat:thinner) with ordinary hardware store lacquer thinner. Sometimes more than one thin coat is necessary.
I use moderate air pressure. If the air pressure gets too high, the over-spray can create a "frosty" appearance (white orange peel). If this happens, try to immediately over-spray with straight lacquer thinner which will usually make the orange peel level out.
