I just picked up this new? kit. I drove one of these when I was in the Army. In the box this is a dandy looking kit! Very detailed and comes with plenty of accesseries. From what I can tell , it is very accurate. But I did spot a few things that will need correcting. On the Jeeps floor board in front of the dash, there was a ajustable post that extended just above the top of the windshield, and had a carraige that the 106 barrel rested in with a split ring to secure the barrel. I will have to scratch one. Also on the Elivation adjusting wheel there was a finger grooved knob for fine adjustments and also served as a firing mechanisum for the main gun and the spotter gun. The kit dont show this.
The instructions show the 106mm ammo is brass. Nope it was flat black. Just thought I would through in some heads up on this stuff! The kit itself is a beauty and I look forward to building it! Brings back a lot of memories!
Cheers,
Garry

I have the same kit. Model point makes a great turned aluminum barrel for it.

I replaced the barrel on the Verlinden conversion kit with a piece of aluminum tube cut to length. Cost: 45 cents with tubing left over.
