Here is my first post on this forum, a 2 1/2 ton truck by Tamyia. I don't know if it's perfect, but I certainly put my best into it. I still have some deatail parts to put on it, but I would like some comments on my attempt to weather it. At first, I had a 'showroom fresh' truck, but I thought 'When was the last time you saw a truck in a moist part of the World with an underframe not caked in mud?". So, I washed the underside heavily with US Earth Red. Do you think it made the vehicle more realistic, or just ugly (or both).

thats a very nice truck you got their
good job on the build and on the mud. a few comments tho.
your truck is dirty but yr stars are shiney white try to dirty them up a little same goes for the windshield. and then you have in my opinion an amazing truck.
so keep up the goodwork
maybe for the fenders you can take some static grass a matching shade of brown paint. white glue and some coffee. I mean the stuff you make coffee with the grinded beans mix that all up and apply it to the fenders then you get a real build up of mud .
just my 2 cents

make a earth-reddish wash and coat the entire truck with it, this will give it a good dirty look. You've definitely got a great start.

you have done a good job there. Like the others said a dusty wash over the whole truck will give it that used look and also tone down the white of the decals. One Question though....Did you gloss coat to seal the decals and then matt coat over that again?
I f you go to my gallery of pics (click on the box in my sig line) you will see how I have weathered most of my trucks .

You did a nice job on the build. But like it has already been stated the stars re too clean. The overall wash is a good idea. I use a wash mixture of Rust-All rust and black wash. I wash the entire vehicle with this wash. But use it sparingly. A little goes a long way.
