Hello all. I have recently returned to model building after about a 4 decade hiatus. I have seen a several great scratch builds of M172 trailers but need more guidance to build one myself. While in the USMC I drove an M123a1c hauling the M172a1 for the 3rd Combat Engineer Bn. in Okinawa 1979-1980. Regretfully, I did not get detailed photos and measurements when I had the chance. I would greatly appreciate more detailed information from those who have built this workhorse than what is provided in previous forum blogs. This will be my first attempt at scratch building, so even the most basic info regarding measurements, materials used, techniques etc... would be greatly appreciated. To start I have acquired The Real Model wheel set for the SLT-56 Trailer which seem to be the closest available wheels. I also have the dimensions and photos from the TM and have drawn a scale diagram to work from. If anyone can provide more detail from their builds I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Frank Finn
