Hi all
I picked up the above kit cheap via ebay withthe intention of applying the zimmerit using putty for my first attempt.Having got it 80% built I think I've made a mistake in that I think I should have applied the zimmerit before adding some of the detail.Your thoughts on this and the accuracy of the kit itself would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Pete

Well I have begun to dabble in Zimm did my tiger in a few places with Zimm-it-rite great stuff BTW. Yes it is easier to do before you apply the little parts that are hard to go around but not impossible to do after wards just take your time and try not to cover a large area at once the Zimm I used stays soft and workable for a couple of hours so not to much of a head ache .
If you are talking about the bolts that are all over the Elefant then yes I would apply the Zimm first and scrap the spot bare to apply them afterwards. (++) (:-)

I cut pieces of masking tape to cover all those odds and ends then apply the zimmerit. When it's almost dry I use a needle in a pin vise to pull up all the pieces of tape and it pulls away taking the small area of zimm with it. A little chipping occurs around the tape but that just looks natural. Now you have clear plastic areas on which to glue the details.
