Hello,
I want to realize a modern us army winter diorama (so with snow) and as far as I know there is no specific figure kits for that purpose.
So I'm wondering what kind of current 1/35 US figures could be used to fill my needs : thick clothes, gloves and tuques...
Thanks !

How modern are you talking about? A few of us thought of using a figure from this review as a US soldier with the old OD field jacket.

Hi
I've just done a diorama with an M1A1 in a winter scheme.
I used a couple of figures from MasterBox.
http://www.mbltd.info/35131.htm
I used them as the clothing is thicker & I painted them in the Woodland camo style jackets etc.
Here's a link to the picture's of it on Photobucket. No room on here for picture's.

Thanks for your answers guys,
When I say "modern", I think 1980's to present.
Reforger years have a lot of related pictures under snow, and even now in Afghanistan there are many pictures during winter. Korea or Alaska are other examples of areas with nice winter scenes but finding figures to put in that kind diorama is challenging.
I have spent a long time on internet, and verlinden has godd ones, like those :

I'm moving this topic up.
With all the recent US figures released after the events in Afgha and Irak, do you guys have any idea about figures I could use for a winter diorama?

Have you looked or US soldiers wearing MOPP NBC suits? I saw them on many winter exercise here in Germany. I have a MOPP suit myself and I can tell you they keep you warm. I know of an obscure Germany company (forgot the name
) that did a US tank crew REFORGER wise that wear the winter parka- But I guess these guys are OOB for years.
By the way, I saw US soldiers wearing full MOPP gear incl. the gas mask, playing soccer during the summer(!) in a US base in Germany. Maybe an idea for a diorama?

This set maybe helpful if you remove the flak jackets.

Hey Hermann,
Thanks for the answer. I'll check for what you describe, I might be lucky and find figures of this old brand.
I thought of this old Dragon kit too. Surprisingly, many new plastic kits don't work because of their higher quality of equipment rendition. That's amusing to think of using poorer quality kits because they are better! ahah

I think the Assault Models 1/35 US snipers in parkas might work as they have the hood. You would need to swap out their sniper rifles with Live-Resin M4s and just paint the parkas white like snowsuits.
Mario did a review of these figures on Armorama.

For sure, those figures will need some improvements using recent resin kits: the weapons obviously, but I also think the heads and the shoes. Hopefully I can also find hands with gloves..

These USMC snipers are in training, hence no tactical vest or harness over their parkas. But it's the parkas that could work as white snowsuits over the uniforms underneath.
But you're correct...there hasn't been any modern arctic figures made in plastic or resin (snowshoes, skis, snowsuits, sleds, etc). It's a topic that just hasn't been addressed in any figure scale.

Hi Francois,
If you look for most recent winter exercises pics, just type "Cold Response" into DVIDS search mask.

the Assault Mini sniper is pretty damn close to what I need - I'd just have to modify him carrying an M16 - thanks.

I used 3 out of the 4 from this set a while back as 10th Mountain soldiers. Just change the heads and add M16's and there you go.

You can do the same with these for 80's tankers:
