Can anyone tell me what kind/version of gunner's sight is that?
I mean the one you can see at 0:34, its not the same of Trumpeter's kit

Hi;

It appears too be of a new type, it could be the new type that's used on the T-90s or a new Mk;. What the Industrial Designator is, only they can tell you. Maybe JD can Ident the type, if you want too add it too your kit then you would have too scratch build it. The Soviets add and delete items so fast it real hard too keep track of all the different versions.

Thanks Mike!
I wasn't able to identify it either.
Let's hope JD knows something else about it, just to be a bit more up to date...

It's the Sosna-U (Sosna means Pine in Russian).

Guys, you are right.
This is the B3 Version, most modernized T-72 which just went into service last year, not the 1989 version which trumpeter provides.

Do you know about other significant exterior differences between the M 1989 ant the B3 versions?

Hi Hugo;

From looking at the Video its really hard too pick out details, other than the Hulls the turret looks different from the item that you picked out. The only things that I have seen in the Video is that the Hulls look like the Normal T-72s Hull, ie; The Side Skirts, the exhaust port, other than that, the tracks are the only detail that I can Identify as the newer type T-90 style. The Video just moves too Fast.

Yes, the B3 doesn't have the 'nadboy' anti-radiation applique on the turret (there's also the small block near the driver hatch that is not fitted). Note that the Trumpeter kit is really an early T-72BA from around the early 2000s. It has the T-72B engine and exhaust, but the later tracks and wind sensor.

By the way, am I wrong or it is equipped with the same 2A46M gun of the T-90?

You guys seem to have figured it all out on your own without me even needing to interject. (They grow up so fast.)

The new Trumpeter kit is a 1990 as it has the wind sensor mast on the turret roof. The 1989 does not have this feature otherwise they are identical. The kit has one inaccuracy that I have found so far in that it has the radiator flaps of a T-90 with rounded corners not the squared corners of the T-72.

I haven't looked at the video, but if they are inside a hangar or shed this is so that the tanks can be quickly pulled out of danger in case there is a fire.
