Hi everyone.
I just learned that the handles of the wire cutters on German AFVs during World War 2 were a reddish/orangeish brown color. What I can't seem to find is how to achieve this color. I paint with both acrylics and enamels. Any ideas.
Thanks.
Alex

Alex;
The color of "Tuffnel" ranged from a rather bright orangy-red (or reddish-orange?) to a dark reddish-brown to pretty much choclate-brown.
I ususally choose a reddish shade which differs from the brown used in the adjacent camo (if indeed I have used such...) - this mostly for artistic purposes to get a slight color-variation and contrast.
My most-common Tuffnel color is usually Tamiya hull-red maybe mixed with some dark yellow to orange it up and lighten it a bit. Way I see it, as long as it does NOT look like my wooden tool handles elsewhere on the build, and does not look the same as any brown in the camo, I'm "good"!

Hi Bob.
Thanks for the information. I was thinking Tamiya Hull Red I just was stuck on that bit of orange that were in some of the color photos I saw (courtesy of this site).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
